MDThe main news for fantasy users is the withdrawal of Tajon Buchanan, who will not be able to take part against Real Madrid due to a muscular injury. The coach did not want to set a timetable for his recovery: «Buchanan will not be available. He has had a small muscular injury. We do not know how long he will be out».
By contrast, Juan Foyth and Santi Comesaña are recovered and are back in the coach's plans for the next match. «Comesaña and Foyth have trained well these past few weeks and are available», he confirmed.
Rotations and possible changes to the XI
With the Champions League commitment against Napoli on the horizon, the coach avoided giving clues about possible rotations. The priority is Real Madrid, although he admitted that he usually makes his XI decisions at the last moment.
«Until the very last moment I do not know who is going to play; that is how I decide», he explained.
He also sent a message to the players who have lost prominence over the past few matchdays: «There are players who were involved at the start and now they are not; I am sure they will get their moment again».
Macià and Diatta, options for the coach
The coach also assessed the situation of Macià and Diatta, two players who continue their process of adapting to professional football. He highlighted their progress and said they have the same chances of playing as their team-mates, although they are still in a stage of physical and mental growth.
A brave Villarreal at the Bernabéu
As for the approach to the game, the coach said he intends to maintain an ambitious plan, betting on pressing high and not closing up against Real Madrid.
«I imagine a match in which we can press high, knowing that they will look to attack the space behind», he said.
The coach stressed that his team must not be afraid and must be aggressive, although he acknowledged that taking chances in the areas will be key to having options to secure a positive result.
