Preparation for Sunday, October 11's match, scheduled for 16:15 at Anoeta against Deportivo, has started with a setback for Matarazzo. After losing to Athletic in the EH Txapela, the coach is gradually getting the players back who have been away with their national teams.

This Wednesday, Yangel Herrera, Mamadou Sarr and Jon Mikel Aramburu returned to Zubieta, although the Venezuelan defender's comeback did not go as expected. The player felt discomfort during training and Real Sociedad will carry out the corresponding tests to determine what problem he has and for how long he could be affected.

For now, the club is only talking about discomfort, so there is no confirmed absence for the match against Deportivo. The closeness of the fixture, however, leaves his participation in doubt. The press conference that had been scheduled as part of the build-up to the clash has also been postponed.

Aramburu arrives after building up a significant workload of minutes. He has started in all seven league games played so far and is close to 600 minutes in this Liga start. To that, we must add the 180 minutes he completed with Venezuela during the break, playing the matches against Japan and South Korea in full.

A problem at right-back for Matarazzo

His situation takes on added importance due to the options available in that position. Hector Fort is also carrying knee discomfort, meaning Real could find themselves without a fit right-back if Aramburu does not make it in time.

Matarazzo now awaits the results of the tests while he completes his squad step by step. The rest of the internationals are due to return on Friday, leaving a tight window for preparation before Sunday's match against Deportivo.
