The goalkeeper from Sallent is expected to complete an important part of training with his teammates, although the process will continue to develop cautiously and without rushing the timetable. His progress over the next sessions will be key in determining whether he can be available again for Hansi Flick.

Joan Garcia has been dealing with issues since September 16, when he was injured against Racing de Santander. The goalkeeper slipped as he tried to reach a ball during the final minutes of the first half and suffered discomfort in his right knee. He managed to finish that first half, but Szczęsny came on in his place after the break.

Subsequent medical tests identified bone marrow edema in his right knee. The injury has forced him to stay away from the team for close to three weeks, a period during which he has focused on his recovery work.

The international break has worked in his favor. His feelings have improved over the past few days and his return to the group represents a significant step toward trying to be ready for the next match against the Barcelona.

Flick gets reinforcements back for the next training sessions

The return of Joan Garcia will not be the only new development in the session. João Cancelo, Jules Koundé, Xavi Espart and Marc Bernal return to work under the orders of Hansi Flick after being away with their national teams. Frenkie de Jong will also do part of the training with the group, while Raphinha will continue training separately.

The Spanish internationals who beat Croatia 2-1 this Tuesday will not be on the pitch. The private flight coming from Split landed in Barcelona at around half past three in the early hours, later than planned due to weather conditions, so the club has decided to give them some rest.

Joan Garcia's situation will now depend on how he responds in the next sessions. If he maintains those good feelings and Flick considers it appropriate, he could regain his starting spot against Getafe. Before his injury, he was in a good run between the posts. In the most recent league match, the German coach chose Dominik Livaković despite also having Szczęsny available.
