Racing - Valencia

Match date: 11/10-21:00

Real Racing Club Santander

The Cantabrian side welcomes the Valencia CF at El Sardinero with the aim of regaining good feelings and once again putting their best version on display in front of a crowd that keeps the faith in this season.

The green-and-white side arrives after a heavy blow in the last matchday, when they were beaten 5-0 by the Celta in Vigo. A resounding result that the team wants to move past as soon as possible in order to focus on recovering their positive momentum.

The best news is that the Racing are playing at home again. El Sardinero has been one of the big supports for the team at the start of this season, and maintaining the same momentum shown in the matches played as hosts will be key to continuing to feed the hope created since matchday one.

The clash against Valencia presents itself as a good opportunity to regain confidence, get back to winning ways and show that the slip-up in Vigo was only an accident in a season start that is generating a lot of excitement among Racing fans.

For this match, the Racing will have a confirmed injury absence:

Valencia CF

The Che side gets its first taste of things with Aguirre in charge of the team. The Mexican arrives with ambition and with the idea of taking all 3 points from El Sardinero.

The team comes with the usual long-term absences, but with Tarrega and Diakhaby training with the group and with options for one of them to start. We have several doubts in the XI: at right-back, Maffeo's good form over the last two matchdays could earn him a continuation, Guido and Guerra are nailed on in midfield; the supporting player could be Mayol with continuity, or the return to Pepelu's natural position. Up front, Hugo Duro has the edge; the wide areas with Otorbi and Danjuma carrying knocks could see Sato and Elliot come in, respectively.

They often say, "New coach, guaranteed win", and Aguirre wants to make that saying come true.
