The forward arrived at Madrid-Barajas Airport this Monday after 11:00 a.m., when Real Madrid's squad had already started its training session. For that reason, Mbappé did not train with his teammates, and we will have to wait to see when he can return to working out normally.

The Frenchman suffered a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee during the match between France and Turkey in the Nations League. After leaving his national team camp, he has returned to the Spanish capital to continue his recovery process.

The latest signs have been positive. Over the weekend, Mbappé posted on his social media images showing him running on a treadmill and working on a bike, two exercises that point to progress ahead of his return to the pitch with the group.

The uncertainty now lies in the match on October 10. The Real Madrid still has four training sessions before hosting Villarreal CF at the Santiago Bernabéu, so the upcoming sessions will be key to knowing the forward's availability.

Villarreal, still in doubt

Although his progress opens the possibility that he could be available, it has not been confirmed that Mbappé will play matchday 8 of LaLiga. Nor can his presence in the starting XI be guaranteed.

One of the options being considered is that the white side will not rush his return against Villarreal and will instead wait for the next European fixture. Real Madrid will face Roma in the Champions League on October 14, four days after the league match.
