Hansi Flick faces the return to competition with the aim of handing out minutes and expanding his options against Getafe, according to SPORT. The workload accumulated by the international players and the demanding schedule awaiting Barcelona push the German coach to turn to less regular players.

The break has helped much of the dressing room regain their energy, but not everyone will return in the same condition. Raphinha returns from his commitments with Brazil with niggles, a situation that could lead the coaching staff to act cautiously and hold him back for Getafe.

His situation could bring changes in attack. Gabriel Jesus and Hamza appear among the alternatives to gain more prominence, especially in the case of the forward, who has added minutes from the bench and already has two goals. Both he and Hamza and Brian Fariñas still have not started in any of the eight official matches played so far.

Flick will also need to manage the fatigue of other internationals. Lamine Yamal and Gordon have built up a significant workload with their national teams, while Eric García returned earlier than expected to Barcelona after feeling some minor discomfort. His progress will be taken into account before putting together the next starting XI.

The players who stayed working in Barcelona have also not been left out of the planning. After nine days of rest, the coaching staff prepared individualized programs to preserve their physical condition before returning to group sessions.

A calendar that forces the team to share the workload

Squad management takes on even more importance for what lies ahead for Barcelona after the break. The team will face weeks with two matches and major commitments, including visits to PSG and Galatasaray, as well as the Clásico scheduled for October 25.

That scenario could alter the distribution of minutes in the opening weeks of the competition. Players such as Alejandro Balde or Gavi, who have had less involvement than in previous seasons, could also find new opportunities.

Flick wants to have the largest possible number of players ready to compete. The accumulation of matches, travel and physical wear will mean that rotations carry increasing weight, starting with a match against Getafe in which the coach can make plenty of changes.
