SPORT: Flick faces a decision between Joan Garcia or Livakovic for matchday 8
Joan Garcia is working with the aim of being available to face Getafe on October 10, although his return could depend on what comes immediately after. Hansi Flick will have to decide whether to bring back the goalkeeper now or keep Dominik Livakovic ahead of a demanding run of matches.

Joan García5.960.000€-100.000€-
PTThe injury to Joan Garcia occurred before the break against Racing de Santander, when a slip caused him discomfort in his left knee. The goalkeeper was unable to play afterwards against Sevilla and could not join the Spain national team.
The medical report published by the club on September 17 described the issue as "mild discomfort" in his left knee. Although Barcelona did not set a specific return date, his recovery is expected to take between two and three weeks, a window that would allow the goalkeeper to be ready for the October 10 match.
For Flick, the question is not only whether Joan Garcia will be available, but also the conditions under which he will return. The clash against Getafe comes just before an especially busy stretch, and the coach could opt not to rush his comeback.

PTDominik Livakovic is emerging as the alternative. The Croatian left good impressions at the Sánchez Pizjuán despite Fofana's header, and then went on to join his national team. He has been a starter against the Czech Republic, in the 1-2 win, and against Spain, in Croatia's 4-1 defeat. Against Spain, he could do little in several goals, although Lamine Yamal managed to beat him at the near post.
Three away trips before the Clasico
Keeping Joan Garcia for the match against Getafe would give the goalkeeper a few extra days before facing a run of three consecutive away fixtures. The first will be the October 13 match against Galatasaray in Istanbul.
Four days later, they will travel to La Cartuja to take on Betis, who have already beaten Real Madrid. The away run will end on October 20 in Paris, where the PSG of Luis Enrique, the reigning European champions, awaits.
After that, another set of key dates will follow. The October 25 Clasico against Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou is scheduled, a fixture for which Barcelona will need to handle Joan Garcia's situation with particular attention after his injury.
