Andres Martin has taken an important step in recovering from his knee injury. The Racing winger has already completed part of training with his teammates, and the plan is to increase the workload progressively over the next week, with the match against Valencia on October 11 as a possible date for his return.

Real Racing Club Santander

The Andalusian forward took part this Thursday in around half of the session held at the Santi Gutierrez Calle training ground at the Nando Yosu Facilities. It is the first time he has reached this level of work with the group since the sprain he suffered in his right knee on August 28 against Elche.

Andres Martin was involved in both the warm-up and one of the attacking and defending drills prepared by Jose Alberto Lopez. A demanding task in which he had to make accelerations, react to different situations and finish moves with shots on goal.

The Racing Santander remains cautious about his recovery despite these advances. The winger did not take part in the subsequent small-sided games, nor in the exercises in reduced space, or in the matches played halfway down the pitch. The initial plan after his injury called for between six and eight weeks on the sidelines, although almost five weeks later he has already returned to working with the ball alongside the rest of the squad.

The aim is to maintain that caution in the next session as well, and for him to gradually be brought into all the drills during the coming week. If his progress continues along this path and Jose Alberto believes he is ready, he could be included in the plans to face Valencia on Sunday, October 11 at 21:00 at El Sardinero.

Pablo Ramon is also continuing to take steps, although his situation is different. After feeling discomfort again in his hamstrings, the defender went out onto the pitch to do solo running for part of the training session. He has still not worked with the ball.

The news is better with Arana. The forward missed Wednesday's session due to a knock to his thigh, but this Thursday he was able to complete training normally and is already at 100 percent.

Simon Eriksson will need more time. The goalkeeper continues working, although he still avoids doing the specific goalkeeping tasks at the same pace as Julen Agirrezabala and Laro Gomez.

The session also did not include any more players from Rayo Cantabria, nor the internationals Zabiri, Pablo Garcia and Salinas. The latter played for around an hour on Wednesday with the Under-20 side against Mexico.
