DFThe Uruguayan defender is carrying out individual training after the discomfort that affected his participation with the national team. The club's medical report places the injury on September 28, the date on which Cáceres was ruled out of Uruguay's squad for the friendly against South Korea.
Days earlier, he also had not taken part in the match against Japan, although on that occasion he was on the bench. After that, physical problems began to emerge from Uruguay, which ultimately led to his release and subsequent return to Vigo.
The injury comes after the centre-back began to gain more prominence in Claudio Giráldez's plans. Cáceres made his Celta debut as a starter against Málaga and returned to the starting XI a week later against Racing de Santander.
Those two matches had allowed him to carve out a place as an alternative in Celta's defence, where Yoel Lago and Marcos Alonso have been the most used players so far. Celta has not specified how long Cáceres will be sidelined and has only confirmed the diagnosis and his current individual work.
