The goalkeeper returned to the collective session this Sunday at the training session held at the Stadion Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kepolisian (STIK) in Jakarta. Footage released by the Indonesian national team showed Audero training with his team-mates on the pitch after the physical problems that prevented him from taking part in the first match of the FIFA ASEAN Cup.

Indonesia kicked off the tournament with a 2-0 win over Singapore without the goalkeeper. During those days, his progress was monitored by the medical services of the national squad.

His return is also good news for Rayo Vallecano. Audero joined the club this summer, and his importance in goal has increased following Augusto Batalla's serious injury.

John Herdman remains cautious before deciding who will take charge in goal against Malaysia. The coach wants to check on the condition of the players who have had niggles before making a final decision.

«Everyone trains tonight. We will assess them again after training and again in the morning», Herdman explained during the pre-match press conference.

Therefore, Audero's return to work with his team-mates does not yet guarantee him a starting spot. The goalkeeper has taken an important step by completing the collective session, but he will have to wait for the coaching staff's final assessment.
