Adeyemi goes off with Flick: are we looking at one of the new Fantasy TOPs?

In a match in which Raphinha grabbed much of the spotlight thanks to his hat-trick, one of the standout names of the game once again proved to be Karim Adeyemi. The German attacker started on the left wing and turned his pace and ability to beat defenders into a constant threat.

The stats perfectly reflect the scale of his performance: eight shots, six completed take-ons, four chances created, five recoveries, two penalties won and one assist. Pretty much everything... except the goal.

He had chances to get it, but a lack of accuracy was probably the only negative point in his display. Adeyemi kept attacking the defensive line from behind, showed up inside the box, and forced Racing to multiply their help every time he received the ball with space ahead of him.

Also, in the final stretch he left another important action: he won the ball back, accelerated and finished by assisting Lamine Yamal for one of the goals that sealed the rout.

The German's progress is also not going unnoticed by Hansi Flick. The coach believes he still has room to better understand some of the team's mechanisms, but he is especially pleased with his attitude, his commitment and a pace that gives Barcelona something different in attack.

It's no coincidence that Adeyemi is steadily increasing his role. His ability to break games through carries and runs in behind fits perfectly with Flick's vertical football, especially when Barça find spaces to run into.

The German had already been leaving good impressions in recent matchdays, and his showing against Racing represents another step forward. Even without scoring, he was one of the most dangerous players in the team.

A profile especially interesting for Fantasy

And this is where the part that matters most to managers comes in. Adeyemi doesn't rely exclusively on goals to produce strong points.

Take-ons, chances created, shots, assists, fouls drawn and constant involvement in dangerous areas give him a profile that is especially appealing in systems based on stats such as Sofascore. And if he keeps his scoring ability, his ceiling could be very high.

Another important factor is Barcelona's attacking momentum. Flick's side is generating an enormous number of chances, and that multiplies the chances of their attackers adding goals and assists.

On the other hand, there is an obvious risk we shouldn't ignore: rotations. Flick has plenty of options up front, and players like Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Anthony Gordon, Dani Olmo, Fermín or Gabriel Jesus can lead to frequent changes in the starting XI.

Should you buy Adeyemi in Fantasy?

As of today, Adeyemi is one of Barcelona's most interesting players when it comes to the balance between performance and Fantasy potential. His role is growing, he has goals, he creates chances, and he plays in one of the most productive attacks in the league.

Starting every matchday won't be guaranteed, but his output is making it increasingly difficult for Flick to leave him out. Even if he comes on from the bench, his pace can turn him into a decisive player as an impact substitute.

In Comunio, Biwenger, LaLiga Fantasy, Mister or Futmondo he's a player to take very seriously. If he continues to deliver performances like the one against Racing and improves slightly his effectiveness in front of goal, we could be looking at one of the big Fantasy names of this season.
