The Valencia CF will be watching the progress of Ryunosuke Sato after the Japanese player finished the match this Friday against Sevilla with discomfort at the Ramn Snchez-Pizjun.

Sato started and stayed on the pitch until the 62nd minute, when Carlos Corbern decided to replace him to bring on Harvey Elliott. Once he was seated on the bench, the Japanese player was seen applying ice to the area of his right ankle, an image that has sparked some concern just a few days ahead of the next league fixture.

For now, Valencia has not issued any diagnosis or published a medical report on Sato, so we will have to wait for the next few hours and, above all, for whether he does or does not feature in the following training sessions to gauge the seriousness of the discomfort.

The main problem for the Japanese player is the limited window to recover. The Che side will play again on Tuesday, September 15, against Deportivo Alavs at Mendizorroza, corresponding to matchday 6, so Sato has just a few days to get back to full fitness.

In fantasy terms, Sato is therefore in doubt for the next matchday. Applying ice does not necessarily mean a major injury and could be a precautionary measure after a knock or a knock-on overload, but his progress over the next sessions will be key in determining whether he can be available for Alavs.
