Simeone surprises with Julián Álvarez and leaves clues for LaLiga: possible rotations vs Real Sociedad
Atlético de Madrid already has an eleven confirmed to face Liverpool at Anfield and Diego Pablo Simeone has provided several important updates, both regarding the start of Julián Álvarez and with an eye on the next LaLiga match against Real Sociedad.

DLThe main surprise comes up front. Julián Álvarez returns to a starting lineup after making his comeback last weekend at San Mamés, where he played the second half.
The decision is especially significant because Simeone had said beforehand that he still sees the Argentine in a growth phase and that he initially did not consider him starting the match. In the end, the coach has changed his plans and gives him a place in the starting XI for one of Europe's most demanding venues.
For fantasy managers, it's very good news. After a difficult few weeks, Julián looks increasingly close to getting back to normal and playing a starring role at Atlético. His physical response against Liverpool will now be key in determining whether he can start again at Anoeta.
The Champions XI offers clues for the weekend
Along with Julián, Simeone brings in important changes compared to his most recent lineups. Cuti Romero enjoys his first start as a Rojiblanco, while Koke returns to the midfield.
By contrast, players such as Grimaldo, Hjulmand and Lookman begin the match from the bench. All three could be names to keep a close eye on for next Sunday's game against Real Sociedad, arriving with fewer minutes on their legs than several of their teammates.
It will also be important to check how long players such as Marcos Llorente, Barrios, Baena, Giuliano or Julián Álvarez himself remain on the pitch. If anyone completes practically the entire Anfield match, Simeone could manage his efforts at Anoeta.
A demanding week for Atlético
The schedule also doesn't invite taking risks. After Liverpool, Atlético travel to the Real Sociedad on Sunday, September 13 at 21:00. Just three days later, they host Osasuna and on Sunday 20 comes one of the biggest matches on the calendar, the derby against Real Madrid.
For that reason, the coming matchdays could bring more rotations than usual in Simeone's squad. Ahead of the Anoeta game, players like Grimaldo, Hjulmand and Lookman have the advantage of having started in Champions with a rest, although you'll have to wait for training sessions after the match to find out the squad's physical condition.
Special attention for fantasy purposes on Julián Álvarez. His start at Anfield is an obvious step forward in his return and, if he responds well physically, he could definitively regain his status as an important piece in Simeone's plans.
