The Champions League is also played in Fantasy mode. Tribuna.com is expanding its competitions offering with a new tournament dedicated to Europe's top club competition, introducing specific rules, more freedom in transfers, and special bonuses for the standout players of each matchday.

Fantasy football fans now have a new European competition to enjoy. Tribuna.com has expanded its fantasy offering with a dedicated Champions League tournament featuring specific transfer rules, familiar boosts and extra rewards through its Team of the Round system.

Fantasy Champions League has officially launched on Tribuna.com, joining the platform's existing lineup of La Liga, Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga and UPL fantasy tournaments.

The first phase covers the 36-team league stage, where every side plays four home and four away matches. Managers get a $100M budget, a 15-player squad and the standard boosts: Wildcard, Free Hit, Bench Boost and Triple Captain, with only one active per round.

However, Tribuna.com has updated the transfer mechanics specifically for the European club tournament. Instead of the usual single free transfer per round, managers now get three free transfers between matchdays with no point deductions.

"For our domestic league fantasy tournaments, we stick to one free transfer per round, with point penalties for any extra moves. That's the industry standard, though it always triggers plenty of debate among fans," says Serhiy Solovei, Product Lead for Fantasy at Tribuna.com. "When drafting the Champions League rules, we listened to user feedback and factored in the longer gaps between matchdays, where team dynamics can shift significantly. That’s why we’ve bumped it up to three free transfers per round without any points penalty."

Another key feature across Tribuna.com’s fantasy tournaments is the Team of the Round. After every matchday, an all-star lineup is chosen, and any player from your squad who makes the cut earns bonus points for your fantasy team.

To ensure greater objectivity, Tribuna.com intentionally handed the selection process to external football experts, TV commentators and podcast hosts who analyze these games professionally, rather than making it an internal editorial decision.

"Team of the Round, no matter how you try to calculate it statistically, is still a somewhat subjective product," notes Iryna Chernukha, Head of Partnerships at Tribuna.com. "We tried to minimize that subjectivity by bringing in experts who professionally commentate on these leagues or have been analyzing them for years, maintaining direct contact with their audience through podcasts and media projects."

Once the league phase concludes, Tribuna.com will launch a separate set of rules and dedicated boosts tailored specifically for the Champions League knockout stage.
