Simeone gives clues about the lineup in today's training

This Friday's training session was marked by finishing work. Diego Pablo Simeone focused on an aspect that worries the coaching staff: accuracy in the final meters, especially ahead of a match at San Mamés, where chances could prove decisive.

The Argentine coach did not carry out a specific lineup test, but the team he is handling to face the Athletic looks very much on track. The core would be very similar to the one that left good feelings in the last game played at the Sánchez Pizjuán, despite the fact that Robin Le Normand is again available after serving his ban.

More options for the rojiblanco attack

The squad call could bring the main surprise. Jonathan David looks set to enter Simeone's list for the first time after completing three training sessions with the group since his arrival from Juventus. Julián Alvarez will also be there, giving the coach more attacking alternatives during the match.

Both forwards could see minutes in Bilbao. The Atlético know that Athletic will demand a very complete version at San Mamés, and the coaching staff values having solutions from the bench for a scenario of maximum difficulty.

The only confirmed absence remains Alexander Sorloth. The Norwegian striker continues his recovery from muscle discomfort and will not be available for this Saturday's fixture.

With official confirmation still pending, the eleven Simeone is considering would be made up of Oblak; Llorente, Pubill, Hancko and Grimaldo; Hjulmand and Barrios; Giuliano, Lookman, Kang-in Lee and Baena.
