La Real Sociedad secured their first win of the season after beating Espanyol 2-1, but the closing stages left an image that worried especially the fantasy managers who have Álex Remiro in their squads.

The txuri-urdin goalkeeper finished the match with shoulder discomfort and ended up lying on the pitch during added time. The situation caused some confusion in the final moments and forced the San Sebastian side to make a change of goalkeeper.

Matarazzo plays down Remiro

After the match, Pellegrino Matarazzo was asked directly about Remiro's physical condition. The Real Sociedad coach eased concerns considerably and explained that the first medical assessments are positive.

"He's fine. There's nothing worrying to say. The doctors say there's no serious problem", Matarazzo said.

The manager did, however, leave open the possibility that the goalkeeper could feel some discomfort after the effort, something that will need to be checked over the coming hours, but his comments point to optimism and, a priori, allow a major setback to be ruled out.

Remiro's situation in fantasy terms

So, there doesn't appear to be any major alarm about Remiro right now. The goalkeeper will continue to be monitored by the medical staff and his progress will need to be watched, especially his participation in the next training sessions.

For managers of Comunio, Biwenger and LaLiga Fantasy, the situation suggests staying calm. Matarazzo's words point to discomfort of a mild nature rather than an injury that would keep him out of action for an extended period.

Even so, with the fixture schedule moving quickly, his progress over the next few days will ultimately determine his availability. For now, the first reports coming from Real Sociedad's coaching staff are reassuring.
