Valencia - Betis

Match date: 25/08-21:00

Valencia CF

After a goalless 0-0 draw against Celta at Mestalla, Valencia CF face a new matchday with the aim of turning that point into something positive with a win over Betis. The clash at Mestalla looks set to be one of the most interesting fixtures of the season's start, with several question marks still to be resolved in the che camp.

The goalkeeper position is not in doubt, but the defence does present changes. The absence of De Haas will force Carlos Corberan to make adjustments, and everything points to Diakhaby being his replacement. The recent signing of Maffeo also opens up a new debate on the flank, where Jesús Vázquez will have to compete for a place in the starting XI.

In midfield, everything suggests the coach will stick with the same approach, while in attack Sato seems to have his spot secured. The main question will be the forward's partner.

Danjuma could miss out on the chance to repeat as a starter after failing to make the case to Corberan that the main offensive reference should be his. The coach could opt for one of the other available alternatives to look for greater efficiency in front of goal.

Real Betis Balompié

Real Betis arrive at Mestalla with their spirits boosted after starting the season with a win over Real Sociedad at Estadio de La Cartuja. Pellegrini's side left good impressions and now face a new commitment with barely a few days of rest, something that could lead to changes in the XI.

The defence is the main area where rotations are expected, with Ángel Ortiz, Natan, Diego Llorente and Fran García looking to share minutes, although we cannot rule out Valentín or Junior Firpo. There is also competition in midfield, especially between Facundo Bernal, Marc Roca and Deossa, while in attack Antony, Riquelme and Cucho all have options to repeat.

Betis will look to capitalise on their good moment and pick up the first three points on the road. Managing minutes will be key for Pellegrini, who will have to find the balance between keeping the same core that beat Real and giving some players a rest.
