The Basle friendly strengthened the case for the German winger. Adeyemi played 79 minutes, scored with his left foot and set up Hamza Abdelkarim in a 2-5 win, a performance that confirmed the positive trend he has shown since he started working with the group.

The forward, signed through 2031 after the payment of 22 million euros plus 7 in add-ons, arrived at FC Barcelona with room to adapt. His move from Borussia Dortmund was wrapped up quickly, allowing him to come under Flick's orders on July 24, after more than two months without competing and with a month still to go before the league debut.

Not being called up for the World Cup left him without international competition, but it also gave him a useful window to rest and complete a more structured pre-season. His goal came by attacking from the right and appearing in the central forward area to take advantage of a pass from Raphinha. The assist was born on the left: a vertical burst, beating his man toward the byline and a precise cross to the far post for the Egyptian striker's finish.

Flick also left a hint to think about for Sunday's match, August 23, against Elche, scheduled for 21:30. When Lamine Yamal came on in the 65th minute, the young winger moved to the right and Adeyemi stayed on the left.
