Maffeo emerges as a solution for Valencia's right-back position
Valencia has made a move in the market after the path to Arnau Martínez became complicated. Pablo Maffeo will arrive on loan from Olympiacos with a purchase option, according to the daily AS.

The search for a right-back has led Valencia to change targets in the final stretch of the talks. The deal for Arnau Martínez had stalled with Girona, and the entry of Fulham into the picture ultimately forced the club to rethink its plans.
Maffeo, born in Sant Joan Despí in 1997 and holding dual Spanish-Argentine nationality, will finally play at Mestalla on loan. The defender belongs to Olympiacos, the club he signed with in June in exchange for 2.5 million euros, with a contract running until 2029.
A familiar profile in LaLiga
Valencia are bringing in a player with experience in the Spanish competition. His spell at Mallorca left him with 160 matches played, a figure that weighed heavily in the decision to back a man already adapted to LaLiga.
The arrival of Maffeo responds to a specific need in the squad. After several weeks with the right-back spot among the positions still pending, the club have found an alternative to Arnau Martínez and, in doing so, are moving toward a solution for one of the fronts left open during the summer.
