Second matchday of the national league competition. Atletico arrive after a win against Malaga, a game in which their starting XI was far from the one we will see throughout the year, with many academy players and a lot of B-team unity.

 The league getting underway so early, with the World Cup final having been played just a month ago, leaves little room for the ideal preparation for the players. For this Sunday, we expect the XI to include players who are already World Cup winners; not all of them will be there, but they will be moving closer to the usual starting XI.

 However, for fantasy, it looks complicated and risky to bet on Atletico players. The fact that matchday starts just the day after they play their game only adds to the uncertainty over which players to put in your fantasy team.

Therefore, we recommend that for the next matchday, except for some very regular picks, you avoid including them in your team.

Villarreal CF

The Villarreal face at the Metropolitano the first big test of the season, after starting with a draw that felt like too little against Racing. The yellow submarine side was inconsistent in Santander, where they even found themselves two goals down, although they were able to respond in the blink of an eye with two strikes from Pape Gueye and Nicolas Pepe.

For this second matchday, no major changes are expected. The defensive line made up of Mouriño, Foyth, Renato Veiga and Carlos Romero looks set, while Luiz Junior remains the favourite to keep his place in goal. In midfield, the double pivot Gueye - Comesaña has plenty of options to stay, although you have to keep an eye on the threat of Carlos Maciá, who is leaving very good impressions every time he gets minutes. For their part, Moleiro and Pepe will occupy the wide areas unless there is a surprise.

The main doubt will be back up front, where Ayoze, Gerard and Mikautadze are fighting for two spots. The Georgian looks the most nailed on, while Gerard Moreno could start this time instead of Ayoze, taking into account the improvement the team showed in Santander when the captain came on.
