Pedro Felipe, two months out: a heavy blow for Racing and a signing he could barely start
Bad news for the Racing de Santander. Pedro Felipe will be out for around two months after suffering a muscle injury in his league debut against Villarreal. A particularly frustrating development for a player who had just arrived in Santander with the hope of becoming an important part of Racing's defense.

The Brazilian centre-back barely had time to enjoy 14 minutes in his debut in La Liga. In an action in which Racing tried to break quickly on the counter, Pedro Felipe made a movement to follow the play and felt a sharp jolt in the back of his right thigh.
The player immediately put his hand to the affected area and was left lying on the pitch. The images were especially concerning: Pedro Felipe left the field visibly affected and, with tears in his eyes, was replaced by Manu Hernando.
The first reports, as El Rincón Racinguista indicate, point to a tear in the hamstrings that could keep him out of action for at least two months. The final diagnosis and the exact grade of the injury must be determined after medical tests, but the outlook is complicated.
A particularly tough blow for a new signing

DFThe injury comes at the worst possible time. Pedro Felipe is one of Racing's key reinforcements for their return to La Liga, after arriving on loan from Juventus and signing through 2030.
The club had gone for a centre-back over 1.90 metres tall, strong physically and with good ball distribution. Chema Aragón himself highlighted his physicality, height and ability to start the game from the back.
On top of that, the Brazilian arrived with plenty of motivation to prove his level after a difficult season in Italy, one marked by physical problems and a lack of continuity. His debut against Villarreal was supposed to be the start of a new chapter, but the injury has put a stop to all his plans.
For Racing, it is also a major setback. José Alberto will be without one of the centre-backs expected to play a leading role in a season as demanding as the one that comes with their return to La Liga.
What does it mean for Fantasy?
In Fantasy terms, the situation is pretty clear: Pedro Felipe stops being a recommended option while he remains injured.
With an estimated two-month spell on the sidelines, keeping a spot taken up by the Brazilian doesn't seem to make much sense, especially if we need immediate returns. Also, his absence could lead to changes in Racing's defence and increase the role of Manu Hernando, who was precisely the one who came on in his place against Villarreal.
So, Pedro Felipe is for sale in Fantasy, and we'll need to keep a close eye on who becomes his usual replacement in José Alberto's starting XI.
A real shame for a player who had barely just started his adventure in Santander.
