Franjiverde planning is moving forward just days before the start of LaLiga, scheduled for Monday, August 17 at 21:00, against Deportivo A Coruña. After the arrivals of Javi Morcillo, Fer Niño and Buonanotte, the club now adds Osorio, coming from Defensa y Justicia.
The general director, Pedro Schinocca, spoke this morning about various market matters, with special attention on the front line. The departure of Álvaro Rodríguez and the end of the loan spells of Rafa Mir and André Da Silva have left an area of the pitch with room for further signings.
Fer Niño had already been a first step toward giving the team an offensive reference. The forward has been able to play two friendlies under the orders of Martín Anselmi and make progress in adapting to the Argentine coach's ideas. With Osorio, competition for a spot up front increases.
Osorio's path before arriving at Elche
Abiel Osorio began his career at Vélez Sarsfield, where he made his debut with the first team in the 2021/22 season. In that spell, he scored eight goals in 40 matches and spent three seasons at the Argentine club.
In the 2023/24 campaign, he joined Defensa y Justicia. Over the last three years, he has scored 10 goals, although last season he was only able to take part in four matches.
