The medical report released by the club this Monday confirmed the severity of the blow suffered by the centre-back. According to the official statement, tests show that Calero has rib fractures in the left 9th, 10th and 11th ribs.

The defender, one of the summer signings to strengthen the heart of the back line, has not been able to train on the grass this Monday and continues his recovery inside the club facilities alongside Dotor. The injury rules him out of both this Wednesday's Trofeo Costa del Sol against Fulham and the league debut on 19 August against Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano. The club has not yet confirmed an exact recovery timeframe, although sources close to the coaching staff put it at around three or four weeks on the sidelines, with the evolution seen in the coming check-ups as the key factor in setting his return.
