Ferran Torres has made his move in the middle of the transfer window and his future is pointing further and further away from Barcelona. The Valencian forward, under contract until 2027, wants to join Luis Enrique's project at PSG and the Blaugrana club already knows his position.

FC Barcelona

The departure of Ferran Torres has moved to the center of FC Barcelona's planning for this final stretch of the market. The Foios attacker, who during the United States tour already left open the possibility of changing his destination, would have reached an agreement with PSG for the next four seasons.

According to the information published, the player gave the green light this week to Paris's sporting leadership to begin talks with Barcelona. The aim was to get the deal on track before August 12, the date scheduled for his arrival for the Blaugrana pre-season.

The most significant step came with a direct call to Hansi Flick. As reported by ‘Jijantes’, Ferran told the German coach that he wants to leave the club and sign for PSG. From that moment on, negotiations between the clubs began to pick up pace, although a formal offer has not yet been presented.

Barcelona's position on the operation

Barcelona admits that it knows both the player's wishes and PSG's interest. Ferran was still in the club's sporting plans and Deco had planned to propose a contract renewal in September, once the market was closed, due to matters linked to ‘financial fair play’.

The contractual situation, with only one more year left on his deal, shapes the scenario. The Catalan club does not want to make an effort outside its wage scale to keep him, but it also does not consider a departure for a low amount. From the sporting department, they expect a figure aligned with the current market value.

‘Marca’ reports that PSG would be willing to reach 50 million euros for the transfer and that the positions are close. The deal takes place in a summer in which Ronald Araujo, Marc Casadó and Roony Bardghji are also among the names flagged as part of the Blaugrana exit operation.

Ferran, the recent world champion with Spain, prioritizes starting a new chapter in Paris under Luis Enrique's orders. PSG, for its part, wants to move ahead of 2027 and avoid waiting for the Valencian to become a free agent.
