The Rayo Vallecano receive an important piece of news ahead of their league debut. The High Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) has provisionally suspended the seven-match ban that was hanging over Isi Palazón. The franjirrojo captain is therefore available for the start of LaLiga while the courts decide on the merits of the case.

The ruling allows Beñat San José to call on one of his most important players. Isi can be named for the opening match against Deportivo Alavés and, in principle, also for the second game against Sevilla, as long as the provisional suspension remains in force.

The ban dates back to the match against Real Sociedad last season. The RFEF Disciplinary Committee imposed a seven-game ban on the player: one for accumulation of yellow cards, two for protesting to the referee, and the other four for insults or offensive conduct towards the official. The Appeals Committee later upheld the decision.

The Rayo Vallecano did not agree with the punishment and appealed through different channels. The club considered the ban disproportionate, which kept its captain out of much of the start of the 2026-27 season.

Isi will be able to play as normal until there is a final decision on the proceedings. The ban, therefore, has not been lifted, but is temporarily suspended.

For Rayo, the difference is significant. San José will be able to start the competition with Isi on the pitch and will not have to deal right away with the absence of one of his key figures. The future of the ban is still pending, but the captain already has a clear path to make himself available to the coach.
