The Villarreal received one of the best pieces of news of the summer with the return of Juan Foyth. The Argentine defender returned to play a match six months after suffering the rupture of his left Achilles tendon, which kept him out of action during the second half of last season.

The world champion started in the friendly against Levante and played the first 45 minutes before being replaced at halftime. Beyond the result, the game served to confirm that the center-back is ready to compete again after a long recovery process.

The injury came last January in a LaLiga match against the Real Madrid. That setback ended his season and also closed his chances of being called up for the Argentina national team for the World Cup. However, Foyth says that from the very first moment he was clear about what his only goal had to be.

The Argentine wants to move past his physical problems and become an important piece throughout the season. "Try to help as much as possible, not have injuries, and be available for whatever the coach considers", he summed up.

Patience is advisable. After six months without competing, it is likely that he will manage his minutes load during the first matchdays. That situation may slow his immediate output, but it also opens up a market opportunity. His price still does not reflect the potential he can offer once he is at 100%, so he is one of those interesting players to get ahead of time before he re-establishes himself as a starter and his value starts to skyrocket.
