The RC Celta have made official the signing of the young Senegalese centre-back

.

The 21-year-old defender arrives in Vigo on loan from Bayer Leverkusen and joins Claudio Giráldez's project to strengthen the heart of the back line.

The deal has been completed via a loan until the end of the season with no option to buy. The German club, with whom he has a contract until 2030, wants the player to continue racking up minutes at the highest level.

A left-footed centre-back with good physicality

Faye is a left-footed centre-back standing 1.91 metres tall who stands out for his physical power, his ability in aerial duels, and his composure when starting plays from the back. His profile fits Claudio Giráldez's model, built around clean build-up play and defenders who can operate far from their own goal.

The Senegalese player featured last season in 19 official matches with Lorient, 17 of them in Ligue 1, despite spending several months sidelined with a foot injury. Once he recovered, he managed to carve out an important role in the French side's defence.

What can we expect from Faye in fantasy terms?

His arrival increases competition in a defence where Celta needed more options. By circumstances, he could play as a left centre-back and compete for minutes within Giráldez's usual rotation.

In fantasy terms, Faye initially appears as a solid bet to follow during pre-season. His youth, aerial ability, and comfort on the ball could help him earn good points, but he still needs to adapt to LaLiga and win a place. If he starts with a low price in Comunio, Biwenger or LaLiga Fantasy, he could become one of those bargain signings with room for value growth.
