The Elche already has the forward it was looking for to strengthen its project in the Primera División. The franjiverde club has made the signing of Fer Niño official, who leaves the Burgos after three seasons to return to the top tier of Spanish football.

The arrival of the Balearic attacker responds to an obvious need. Martín Anselmi had been left without offensive references following the departures of André Silva, Álvaro Rodríguez and Rafa Mir, three players who scored 25 goals last campaign and had a decisive impact in the team staying up. Now it will be Fer Niño who takes on a large part of that responsibility.

The forward arrives at the Martínez Valero after leaving an important mark at Burgos. Since joining in 2023 from the Villarreal, he played 122 official matches and scored 25 goals, becoming one of the most reliable players in the Castilian side. His most recent memory in the black-and-white shirt was a goal against the Bilbao Athletic in pre-season, a strike that also ended up being his farewell.

With this move, Elche adds its fourth signing for the new season. Earlier, it had already secured the continuity of Gonzalo Villar, Buba Sangaré and Víctor Chust by exercising the purchase options for all three players.

The Ilicitano club describes Fer Niño as a forward with presence in the box, the ability to play with his back to goal, physical power and good goal sense. A profile that fits what Anselmi was looking for to rebuild an attack that has changed almost completely during this transfer window.

The step up to Primera represents a new opportunity for the Balearic forward, who arrives at a point of maturity after establishing himself in Segunda. At the Elche, they hope that experience translates into goals from day one and helps to fill a gap that this summer was and still is, one of the biggest concerns in the squad.
