FC Barcelona Fantasy Guide 2026/27: squad, likely starting XI and recommended players
The LaLiga fantasy guides are back. We analyze the FC Barcelona squad for the 2026/27 season: signings, departures, possible starting XI, each player's role, set-piece takers at dead-ball and recommended players. A useful guide for Comunio, Biwenger, LaLiga Fantasy, Mister, Futmondo and other fantasy games.
Objective for the 2026/27 season
The current champions return to the competition after winning three of their last four league titles, and they do so, as could not be otherwise, aiming for everything. This young Barcelona squad accumulates yet another year of experience by collecting trophies, so the Blaugrana will start as favorites in all domestic competitions, with the Champions League the undisputed and main target of the season.
Signings and new faces
Few tweaks as of today in Flick's team, and the transfer chapter boils down to the arrival of Gordon, Adeyemi and Bisiwu, all of them effective from the attacking line. It's to be expected that some reinforcements will come for the full-back positions and, above all, for the center-forward spot, but once again, the club is taking it with a calm that, we will see, might be a bit excessive.
Gordon17.840.000€-770.000€ -

Adeyemi9.670.000€+1.220.000€ -
DLMajor absences
Few additions and therefore few departures, with the only notable one as of today being a Rashford who, despite his impressive numbers, failed to justify to the Club the investment required for a permanent addition to the squad.
Goalkeepers in fantasy mode

Joan García9.950.000€+480.000€ 2
PT@1@
The one from Sallent no longer needs introductions: a first-choice, points-guaranteeing goalkeeper for the Blaugrana, who wins them for your Fantasy team with astonishing ease.
Szczesny160.000€-20.000€ -
PT@4@
The Pole is a fun, veteran type who does the dressing-room rounds and smokes, but not much more. Unless Joan has bad luck, he won't play anything, so you have to let him pass unless you also have his teammate on your roster.
Defenders in fantasy mode

Kounde4.630.000€+150.000€ 3
DF@3@
We don't know why, but his last season was disastrous; multiple concentration lapses and various injuries cost him his starting spot, although statistically he saved the season thanks to the consistency of his team's results. This year, we won't bet on him after the emergence of Eric on his flank, and it will be hard to know whether we're looking at last year's Jules or the one from two seasons ago.
Eric García6.320.000€+240.000€ 4
DF@2@
Everything the opposite of Kounde: consistency, versatility and footballing maturity beyond any doubt. He will play on all sides of the pitch and score plenty and well if nothing goes wrong.
Ronald Araujo1.120.000€-10.000€ -
DF@4@
Bad for the Uruguayan. Last season never really got going for him, and he was overtaken even by the promising central defenders from the academy. His mindset, limited vision, and the fact that he has to move Cubarsí to the left to make room condemn him. We'll see how he evolves, but his file could even end in a sale this summer, so as of today he can't be recommended even for speculation.
Jofre Torrents210.000€ -
DF@4@
Very close to being loaned out to the Ajax of Amsterdam, and that's because if he stays, he wouldn't be more than the third full-back despite the much-talked-about projection.
Alejandro Balde2.370.000€-20.000€ 4
DF@3@
A complicated case for the Barcelonan. His constant injuries have held him back and continue to do so despite everything he promised. If, as everything seems to indicate, Cancelo ends up arriving, his role will be that of a quality substitute again unless he leaves his physical problems behind and the Portuguese takes them on. On the face of it, he starts as a patch even if he ends up playing as a starter.
Gerard Martín5.450.000€+60.000€ 5
DF@2@
A spectacular rise for the man from Esplugues, who would have thought he'd become indispensable and the biggest example of the meritocracy that should guide any lineup fairly. Reliability and sobriety at full power whether as a center-back or a full-back.
Álvaro Cortés560.000€-20.000€ -
DF@4@
It's clear he doesn't start as a starter, and the minutes forecast for the Zaragoza native isn't very encouraging, but there's no doubt he's a very valid left-footed player, and who knows if, due to circumstances, he could make a splash by staying in the first team and repeating the central-defender pairing he formed long ago at La Masia with Cubarsí. In any case, don't lose sight of him because, besides, if he were loaned to a Liga side that guaranteed him minutes, he could break the market.
Xavi Espart330.000€-30.000€ -
DF@3@
If with Cortés it was already hard to recommend him, with Espart we are not going to beat around the bush. He has received well-deserved praise from Hansi Flick and it looks like he'll stay in the first team to show off his class and versatility whenever he's needed due to teammates' injuries and squad rotations, all of it provided that the summer transfer planning leaves him room.
Christensen340.000€-30.000€ 3
DF@3@
The Dane is a bit of an unknown for now because his injury tendency scares anyone, but he has class; the team's style has always suited him perfectly, and if no signings come in for his position, he could rise again from the ashes by playing in the left profile of the defense, where he has already done more than once in the past despite being right-footed.
Cubarsí10.710.000€+410.000€ 5
DF@1@
The academy product is on his way to becoming a legend. Sobriety, security, anticipation, vision, passing, cleanliness in his play and leadership make him one of the best center-backs in the world.
Héctor Fort750.000€-60.000€ -
DF@4@
A very usable player when injuries have spared him and who already has some experience, but the overbooking at right back will unjustly relegate him to a sale or a testimonial role...in principle.
Midfielders in fantasy mode

Gavi4.270.000€-260.000€ -
MD@2@
The academy product is back, and it's very much to Hansi Flick's liking, who likes to deploy him in different positions, which gives him a noticeable amount of minutes and, playing in the team he plays for, means plenty of points by the end of the season, regardless of the debate about whether he's a fine stylist, a high-rev stopper, or a strange mix of both.
Dani Olmo12.860.000€-90.000€ -
MD@2@
The fine stylist who operates in the attacking midfield with class and an eye for goal, even flirting with the false nine role. He had an excellent World Cup. He scores well and shows up in front of goal often, but for that he has to play, and it's worth remembering that the spot is contested with a player like Fermín, and we'll see if, with some converted winger and an unexpected zero, he could end up giving away.
Marc Bernal4.460.000€-470.000€ 5
MD@2@
This is the year of the man from Berga. Injuries have treated him well; he has been able to take vacations and a preseason without scares, and injuries to some of his teammates suggest he's going to be a regular in the coach's lineups , which in his case means not just passing but also arriving.
Pedri19.870.000€+930.000€ 4
MD@1@
Another year, he'll go back to teaching from the Blaugrana engine room if injuries keep sparing him.
Tommy Marques230.000€-10.000€ -
MD@4@
He is the academy player who has spent the most time in the first-team setup. A box-to-box midfielder with enormous projection, very much to Flick's liking, and who will be waiting on the bench for an opportunity that would come in the form of a plague of injuries in midfield, along with inevitable rotations.
Fermín López11.040.000€-30.000€ -
MD@2@
This Masia product is already more than a fully consolidated reality, sharing the attacking midfield with Dani Olmo. Goals, assists and intensity on full display whether from the bench or starting.
Marc Casadó1.020.000€+70.000€ 6
MD@4@
On the transfer ramp, but while he doesn't leave, you can be sure he'll keep giving everything for the badge he loves so much and fighting to earn a place in the rotation, a plan that last year didn't deliver the desired results, unlike the year of his breakthrough when he surprised both insiders and outsiders.
De Jong2.200.000€-80.000€ -
MD@4@
Injured, apparently for a long time. The question is whether he'll play in 2026. We'll keep updating his status.
Forwards in fantasy mode

Adeyemi9.670.000€+1.220.000€ -
DL@3@
He starts with no hierarchy; there is an overabundance of players in his position, concentration isn't his strong suit, and Lamine's omnipresence makes it harder for him to break through. But it was a specific request from Hansi Flick, so he will get minutes one way or another. If he makes the most of them with assists and/or goals thanks to his devilish speed, he could be an interesting signing, even if as of today he starts as a patch.
Bardghji400.000€-50.000€ -
DL@4@
The question is whether he'll be loaned out or sold with an option to buy, because in the remote case that he stays, he wouldn't have minutes, and his exit seems set for abroad, so don't sign him under any circumstances.
Lamine Yamal27.180.000€+680.000€ 11

Goal: Ballon d'Or.
Toni Fernández280.000€-20.000€ -

He will leave.
Ferran Torres8.500.000€+110.000€ 2
DL@2@
He has all the credentials to leave, but it will depend on whether the team finds a replacement for him and whether he brings the money. If he stays, he'd be an interesting fantasy player that we are not going to reveal now, especially without the competition of a whole Lewandowski. With all that said, we'll keep updating his profile with the news that will surely keep coming.
Gordon17.840.000€-770.000€ -
DL@2@
He is the star signing of the market so far. All the indicators point to buying him, because he has the coach's backing, proven quality, youth, mentality, versatility and hunger. We don't know whether it will be at 9, on the wing, or exactly where, but it will surely work out.
Raphinha17.650.000€+1.180.000€ 10
DL@2@
The Brazilian is a survivor who has always known how to deal with and turn around the noise that has followed him since he arrived in the Condal City. This year, we're certain that rumors of a sale and competition for his spot won't affect his commitment and performance. The only question mark about him is his physical condition, but it's to be expected that he'll understand his body better and not expose himself to injuries from unnecessary efforts like last year.

Set pieces are fundamental in fantasy games, especially in those that use objective statistics. We analyze the Blaugrana team's main set-piece takers.

Raphinha17.650.000€+1.180.000€ 10

Penalties
Lamine Yamal's hunger will make him take on more responsibility from the 9-meter spot, and we believe he will take almost all the spotlight, although it's worth not forgetting about Raphinha.
Free kicks
The responsibility for taking free kicks will be fairly shared, but once again the figure of a Lamine Yamal emerges, who will look to boost his numbers with direct free kicks as well, just like Raphinha and, to a lesser extent, Olmo.
Corners
In this case we find the same protagonists as in the rest of the set pieces, but perhaps with roles reversed or more evenly distributed.

Speculation is especially important during the preseason, when some players can experience major value rises. We pick out the players with the greatest potential to generate profits in the fantasy market.
Xavi Espart330.000€-30.000€ -
DFThe right-hand eye of Flick, who has showered praise on the academy product for his class and versatility, even comparing him to his fellow countryman Philipp Lahm , and those are big words. He could benefit from the mess on the Blaugrana full-back positions.
Marc Bernal4.460.000€-470.000€ 5
MDThe year of consecration for one of the symbols of La Masia, whose stats used to scare people, because he was going to score a goal per match. The injury to Frenkie de Jong has opened a window of opportunity for him, and he will surely make the most of it because he has assists, goals and plenty of quality.
Gordon17.840.000€-770.000€ -
DLThe Englishman is a do-it-all player who has nothing left to prove. His work discipline and mentality are second to none. He will play a lot and play well, and if he ends up playing as a (false) 9, he could be a genuine top-of-the-tops fantasy star.

A new feature this season: in this section we put our necks on the line with 3 players who could cause trouble this season, and another 3 we doubt and a lot.
3 POSSIBLE SURPRISES
Tommy Marques230.000€-10.000€ -
MDThe B player who has spent the most time in the first-team setup, and after the exits of Dro and a couple of other teammates, he is the academy player, along with Espart, who has the most tickets to establish himself in the elite. And we already know that once these kids start showing up in the first team's midfield, they are worth taking into account.
Bisiwu840.000€+170.000€ -
DLDeco's surprise in this market is a melon to be opened, but that's what it's about. It's true that the Belgian has been talked about for a while, but the stubbornness in pushing for his signing should bode well for a bright future in the first team, where he already participates normally. Put his name down; it costs nothing, and if he shortens the timeline and fulfills half of the hopes placed in him, he'll be a top player.
Christensen340.000€-30.000€ 3
DFBecause not everything here will be about young players. If the fitness coaches hit the mark and get him in shape so he can avoid injuries with confidence, we could be looking at the center-back partner of Cubarsí that the Club has been searching for since Iñigo's departure, with all due respect to a Gerard Martín who, given the situation, could return to full-back without making a drama of it.
3 POSSIBLE DISAPPOINTMENTS
Adeyemi9.670.000€+1.220.000€ -
DLThe German, despite being a bet by the coach, raises some doubts because he has had specific disciplinary conflict episodes, never managed to break out, and he plays in the same position as Lamine Yamal. We'll see whether joining a big club centers him or accentuates these negative points.
Ronald Araujo1.120.000€-10.000€ -
DFBad times for the Uruguayan, who is said to no longer be a Barcelona player due to a question of suitability and fit; in fact, we'd say he starts as the fifth center-back. A lot would have to change to reverse things.
Kounde4.630.000€+150.000€ 3
DFThe Frenchman is a mystery. Last season left very bad impressions and the push from the youngsters, along with the professionalism of Éric García , won't allow him another year like the last one.
