Juan Cruz is building momentum again as an option for Málaga CF's attack. The move, still pending finalization, is expected to come in the form of a loan from CD Leganés.

Málaga Club de Fútbol

The return of Juan Cruz to La Rosaleda is increasingly on track. The winger, developed in Málaga's youth system, is emerging as one of the most advanced moves for the Málaga CF to strengthen its attacking department ahead of next season.

The formula leaves little room for alternatives: a loan. The player remains under contract with CD Leganés until 2028, and his release clause stands at eight million euros, a figure far beyond the economic reach of the club from Martiricos.

As the Diario AS reported, talks are at an advanced stage so that the player can join the blanquiazul side on loan. His situation at Butarque also helps the deal move forward, since Juan Cruz does not plan to stay with the Pepinero team in Segunda División.

A return with a blanquiazul past

The case brings to mind, albeit with nuances, the return of Fernando Calero. Juan Cruz also knows the place, but his departure from Málaga CF is much more recent, adding a special element to a possible return to the club where he finished developing.

If the deal is finalized, it would be the second Málaga signing of the summer transfer window. Sergio Pellicer would be adding a forward with pace, the ability to beat defenders, and the versatility to operate in different positions across the attacking area.
