Adrià Pedrosa will not stay at Elche. The club from Elche has already informally told the Sevilla that it will not activate the purchase option included in the loan agreement, meaning the left-back will return to the Andalusian side once his loan ends.
The decision comes after weighing up different factors because they believe the defender has contributed both on the pitch and in the dressing room, but the cost of the deal has proved decisive. To the just over two million euros that the purchase required, they had to add a high salary, an investment that Elche has decided not to take on.
Pedrosa arrived at the team in the final stretch of the summer transfer window in 2025 and last season he featured in 27 LaLiga matches. During that time he scored one goal and provided one assist, accumulating 1,079 minutes on the pitch.
The defender, aged 28, was developed in the youth ranks of Espanyol and made his top-flight debut in the 2018-19 season. In addition to his experience in Spanish football, he has also played European competitions and was capped by the Spain under-21 national team.
With this decision, the Elche frees up an important operation from an economic standpoint and will have to go to the market to strengthen the left-back position ahead of the new season, while Pedrosa returns to Sevilla under contract as his future is resolved.
