Betis moves the market to reshape its midfield
The Verdiblanca planning points directly to the midfield, an area that needs new pieces after several open moves. Nicolas Raskin appears as one of the best-placed names, while Facundo Bernal is again emerging as an alternative from South America.
The departure of Altimira to Sporting, the talks to sign Deossa and the situation of Amrabat, who for now will not continue, force Betis to act in the market. At the club, it is taken for granted that Dani Ceballos will end up joining during the summer, although his arrival would not cover all the needs of the squad.
The sporting direction led by Manu Fajardo is working with different profiles to complete the midfield. Among them, Nicolas Raskin stands out, a Rangers midfielder who has the backing of both the sporting officials and Manuel Pellegrini, according to information provided by El Desmarque.
Raskin and Bernal, two routes for the midfield
Raskin, an international with Belgium and currently in the World Cup, has a contract with the Scottish club until 2028. At 25 years old, his market value is around 12 million euros. His profile is that of a positional midfielder, although with physical conditions different from those of Altimira, whose role he could take on within the new Betis setup.
The other option on the table is Facundo Bernal. From Brazil, they point to Betis' interest in the Uruguayan player from Fluminense, and even talk of an initial 9 million euros proposal from the Verdiblancos. He is not a new name in Heliopolis, as he has appeared in previous windows as a possibility to strengthen the midfield without the deal ever being finalized.
Bernal is 22 years old, has a contract until July 2028 and an estimated market value of six million euros, half of Raskin. At Betis, they deny that there is a formal offer at this time, although they do acknowledge talks with the player.
With the aim of closing the season with a positive balance from the sales of Altimira, Deossa and Mendy, Betis is trying to move forward with its summer planning. The midfield remains one of the main priorities.
