Deportivo are dreaming of bringing Angeliño back. His Blanquiazul past, international experience and status as a youth academy product fit the club's needs.

Real Club Deportivo de la Coruña

The Deportivo face their return to La Liga with the obligation to strengthen the squad without losing sight of their identity, and a name is being talked about that brings together practically everything the Coruñan club is looking for: Angeliño.

The Galician full-back, currently at the Roma and still under contract for the time being, represents a complex deal from an economic standpoint. His career at top-level clubs and the salary associated with it put him well beyond the usual possibilities for a newly promoted side. In A Coruña, they are keeping a close eye on any move that could bring one of the players most emotionally tied to the club closer.

Angeliño maintains a special connection with the Deportivo. Trained at Abegondo after starting out at the Luis Calvo schools in Carballo, he has never hidden his desire to return to wearing the Blanquiazul shirt. Over the years he has repeatedly stated publicly his intention to come back to Riazor one day, a message that has recently been reinforced with several winks on social media.

Sporting management considers it a priority to strengthen the left-back position following the departure of Sergio Escudero. Quagliata is the main reference for that spot, and bringing in a player of Angeliño's level would raise the squad's competitiveness. In addition to covering a specific need, he would add experience in major European leagues and in continental competitions, a profile that is scarce in the current Deportivo dressing room.

The Deportivoare maintaining their commitment to having a significant presence of players trained in their academy, at least 25% of the squad. With players such as Diego Villares, David Mella, Dani Barcia, Miguel Loureiro, Yeremay or Bil Nsongo in that group, the arrival of Angeliño would provide an additional margin to manage future exits or loans without compromising that balance. It would even make it possible to approach possible offers for some of the team's most highly rated young players with greater peace of mind.

Few signings would fit so well with Deportivo's sporting, institutional and sentimental needs as the return of Angeliño. At Riazor they know that there are transfers that go far beyond what happens on the pitch, and Angeliño is one of them.
