Florentino Pérez has raised the stakes in the club's election race with the announcement of an operation, in his words, that would surpass any previous transfer by the white club. The Real Madrid president spoke of an imminent proposal of at least 150 million euros for a player from a Champions League club.

The warning came after Enrique Riquelme put Haaland into his plan if he wins the elections, a possibility denied by the striker's camp and by Manchester City. Pérez, also a candidate in the electoral process, responded with an impact message: the Real Madrid would be ready to put a historic figure on the table.

In his appearance on Horizonte, the executive was blunt when defining the player's profile. “I am going to make an offer to a Champions League club soon, on Tuesday, which will be the biggest payment that Madrid would have made for a player in its history, 150 million at least. It's not Olise, it's a great player but it's not; it's not Doku, it's not Haaland, it's not Kane... And it's not from the Premier League. It's a total Galáctico”, he said.

Despite that public denial about Michael Olise, the information points to three players on the table: the Bayern winger himself, Vitinha and João Neves. In the case of the 24-year-old France international forward, Florentino Pérez sees him as a standout profile after the club's market analysis.

Olise has a contract with Bayern until 2029 and is valued at 150 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. A left-footer and regular on the right wing, he left a strong impression in the quarterfinal tie of the last Champions League, in which the German side eliminated Madrid. Before exploding at Crystal Palace, he also played for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Reading. Bayern paid 53 million for him in the summer of 2024 and since then he has racked up 107 appearances, 42 goals and 54 assists, with very few injuries and just one sending-off in his career.

Vitinha and João Neves, two tough options in Paris

The other route that the Real Madrid is looking at is in midfield. Vitinha and João Neves, both represented by Jorge Mendes, are seen as alternatives of enormous quality, although within the club it is understood that any move involving PSG would be complicated. The Paris club is not a seller and Madrid also does not want to strain relationships that have returned to normal.

Vitinha, 26, has been followed by the white club for some time. He is under contract until 2029, is valued at 140 million and joined PSG from Porto in 2022 for 41.5 million. This season he has played 50 matches, with seven goals and ten assists, and has been an important piece in the two consecutive Champions League titles won by Luis Enrique's team. With Portugal he has 37 caps.

His exit would not be straightforward, although the existence of a private contract, in a country where release clauses are banned, could carry weight in a possible negotiation. The restoration of the relationship between Mendes and Madrid also plays a role.

João Neves completes the trio of names. The Portuguese midfielder, Vitinha's teammate at PSG, was the standout in last season's Champions League final against Arsenal. He is 21 years old, has a contract until 2029 and a market value identical to Vitinha's. PSG paid 65.92 million to Benfica in 2024 and his development under Luis Enrique has placed him among Europe's most prominent midfielders.

This season he has signed for 38 matches, seven goals and four assists. With Portugal he has 21 appearances and three goals. As with Vitinha, the deal is considered complicated, although Florentino Pérez insists that on Tuesday he will present an offer that would represent Madrid's biggest investment in a player.
