Racing returns to the First Division 14 years later after a brilliant season. The fans supported the club during its toughest years in the lower leagues. José Alberto, a competitive squad, and institutional stability brought Santander back to the elite of Spanish football.

"What are we? A team! What team? Racing, Racing, Racing!" With this chant in the background, Racing is already back where many thought it would never return: in the First Division. And it has not been just any promotion. Fourteen years have passed since the Cantabrian side fell 2-4 to Osasuna at El Sardinero and said goodbye to the elite amid utter chaos. Three coaches, institutional problems, a directionless squad, and a club that seemed doomed to disappear.

Racing survived. And it did so thanks to its people.

Because if racinguismo has shown anything over all these years, it is that it never abandoned the team. Not when the club wandered through Segunda B or Primera RFEF, nor when it seemed impossible to get out of the hole. While others disappeared, Santander gritted its teeth and kept filling El Sardinero every weekend. The fans supported the club when it was practically dismantled.

In these 14 years, Racing has experienced everything: promotions, relegations, playoffs, and a lot of frustration. Fighting in categories unworthy of a historic club of Spanish football

Racing has led much of the championship and shown a consistency uncharacteristic of such a challenging category. Even in difficult moments, when defeats came that cast doubt on the project, the team knew how to react. That is where the character of a group that never lost faith appeared.

Much of the credit has name and surname: José Alberto. The Asturian coach landed in Santander with a bold, offensive, and daring proposal. At first, there were doubts because the team took a lot of risks, but as the months passed, he managed to find the perfect balance. Racing ended up being a fun, aggressive, and very competitive team.

And if the system worked, it was also thanks to a squad full of talent. Íñigo Vicente and Andrés Martín have been the offensive soul of the team throughout the season. Two standout players who set the pace of Racing’s attack. Joined by players like Villalibre and Guliashvili, who stepped up when the team needed it most, especially after the departure of Jeremy and the continuous injuries of Arana.

There were also key players in midfield. Gustavo Puerta and Peio Canales provided balance, quality, and personality to support the team in the season's crucial moments.

Off the pitch, many things have also changed. After dark periods with names that left deep wounds in the club, finally appeared a serious management, which let the sporting department work and bet on building a solid project.

This promotion is not just sporting; it is the end of 14 years of suffering, resistance, and loyalty. And a deserved reward for a city and fans who never stopped believing.
