The Hypermotion League is wide open: Racing Santander leads, but Deportivo and Almería are pressing in the fight for direct promotion. Behind them, Málaga, Las Palmas, Castellón and company are battling for the playoffs in a season finale that promises madness until the last matchday.

There are three matchdays left. THREE. And the Second Division is completely unleashed. The standings look like a pressure cooker and every match smells of drama, comebacks, calculators, and heart in your throat.

At the top, Racing Santander leads with 75 points, but no one in Santander can sleep peacefully. Depor and Almería are blaring their horns from behind with 71, waiting for the slightest stumble to launch themselves into direct promotion like sharks smelling blood and trying to go up directly.

And the best part: the calendar is packed with traps.

Racing hosts Valladolid, then visits a Málaga that has half their life on the line, and finishes against Cádiz, who are fighting to avoid relegation. Zero relaxation. A bad day and the lead could fly out the window.

Meanwhile, Deportivo seems to have the wind at their back. Andorra, Valladolid, and Las Palmas. On paper, a less explosive path… although in the Second Division that means absolutely nothing. Here, even the last placed team can ruin your season in ten minutes.

And then there’s Almería, entering the hardcore zone of the championship: Las Palmas, Sporting, and Valladolid. Three matches that seem taken from an '80s legend mode video game.

The playoff looks like a bar fight at 3 a.m.

From fourth to ninth, punches are flying everywhere.

Málaga and Las Palmas are tied at 66 and keep looking in the rearview mirror every five seconds.

Málaga has a tremendous finish: Ceuta, Racing, and Zaragoza. Either you come out a hero… or you end up begging for the final whistle.

Las Palmas doesn’t have a schedule; they have an ambush: Almería, Zaragoza, and Deportivo. If they survive that, they deserve a statue.

And watch out for Castellón. They’re there quietly, inside the playoff zone, waiting for chaos to stick their head in. Cádiz, Huesca, and Eibar. Nobody wants to face them right now in Castalia.

Eibar is not stepping out of the fight either, although their schedule comes with bends: Cultural, Córdoba, and Castellón. Three matches where you finish looking at the standings before sleeping and again upon waking.

And further back, Burgos CF and Córdoba keep dreaming, because this division hooks you precisely for that: no one ever gives up.

Matchday 40: here the definitive fire may start

The match of the round has neon lights:

Almería vs Las Palmas. A direct duel. One of those matches where a goal changes the mood of an entire city.

Meanwhile, thousands of fans are already doing impossible calculations:

"If we win, the other draws, and then the head-to-head…”

Yes. We have officially entered the most wonderful phase of the Second Division: absolute madness.

We will keep you updated. And honestly… what a wonderful championship.
