Bailly gives a scare but leaves the field conscious after the head injury

The match had barely started and it had already produced one of those images that put the entire stadium on edge. In the 2nd minute, in a jump with Satriano, Bailly arrived late to the challenge and ended up hard hitting the opposing player's nose. The blow was tremendous and blood started to flow abundantly right away. The player had to leave the field while the medical staff tried to stop the bleeding.

Luckily, the scare was just that and the player returned barely a minute later, in the 3rd minute, eager to keep fighting the match as if nothing had happened.

But the story didn’t end there. In the 11th minute, all alarms went off again. Once more Bailly ended up lying on the grass. From the stands and also on the bench it was noticeable that something was wrong. The defender seemed dizzy and several teammates quickly made gestures toward the sideline pointing to their heads, making it clear that the problem stemmed from the initial collision.

After a few minutes of concern and with the doctors examining him on the field, it was clear that he could not continue. Finally, Oviedo was forced to make a move very early: Bailly left the game and David Costas came on in his place.

An unfortunate and tense start that left football in the background for several minutes.
