With four matches ahead in just three weeks, any physical setback can influence the end of the season. This is the situation Elche faces with Rafa Mir, who already missed the visit to Celta due to discomfort in his hamstrings.

This Wednesday, in a training open to the press, the Murcia-born forward did not step onto the Díez Iborra pitch and worked out in the gym. He was the most notable absence in a session that also saw Yago de Santiago and Fede Redondo not present.

Sarabia watches the attack as the schedule tightens

The main novelty was the return of Adam Boayar. His comeback strengthens an offensive area that, if Mir does not recover in time, would be reduced to André Silva and Álvaro Rodríguez as available attackers for Eder Sarabia. In this context, the medical staff at Elche is working with the idea that the striker can contribute in the last four league matches: Alavés, Betis, Getafe, and Girona, with the added challenge that three of those ties will be played within just seven days. The club is also monitoring the case of Lucas Boyé, now at Alavés, who will be out for around three weeks due to a similar injury, at least in the same area.

Mir has been a regular resource for Sarabia this 2025-2026 season. He has 27 league appearances, 21 of them as a starter, totaling 1,811 minutes and eight goals. Until a couple of weeks ago, he was the top scorer for Elche, although now he is surpassed by André Silva, who has ten.

In January, the forward already suffered an injury that kept him out for just over a month, right at the start of the team's poor run, which extended to 11 games without a win. The striker missed five matches, after having been in Sarabia’s starting lineup for every league game until then.
