The setback occurred during Saturday’s session at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios Sports City. The Jerez-born defensive midfielder had to leave after a blow to the tibial plateau of the right knee, and tests confirm a bone edema, a painful injury whose progression will determine the recovery time. For now, he is ruled out for the match on Monday, May 4th (21:00) at home.

More changes in García Plaza’s squad list

So far, Luis García Plaza only had one confirmed absence, Marcao Teixeira, who underwent surgery for a fracture of the scaphoid bone in his left foot and is now expected to be out until preseason. Additionally, Djibril Sow missed the match in Pamplona due to suspension after accumulating cautions. Now Manu Bueno is added to that list; he had been gaining importance in the coach’s plans since his debut at Carlos Tartiere, where he played after the break, and later started against Atlético de Madrid and Levante UD. He remained on the bench against CA Osasuna and, because of this setback, will not be available against Sevilla FC when facing the Donostiarras.
