Monday’s training session brought both good and bad news ahead of the trip. On the one hand, Ángel Ortiz returned to training with the group after several weeks dealing with a shoulder problem. On the other hand, Llorente left with discomfort and is already ruled out for the visit to Girona.

The Betis coach confirmed at midday that the Madrid-born defender will be unavailable, at least, for tomorrow’s match. The injury occurred during yesterday’s training and the exact extent has not yet been officially confirmed by the club.

The defender had been a starter last Thursday in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg, pairing with Bartra. In that match against Braga, Llorente had an unfortunate moment: late in the first half, he collided with Bartra as both went to clear an aerial ball, fell to the ground, and lost consciousness briefly, causing concern until he recovered and was able to continue.

With this setback, Llorente joins Junior, who is also injured, while Ángel Ortiz, despite having rejoined the group today, is still not fit to compete.
