The league competition returns to Barcelona and with it the countdown to the Catalans being crowned champions. With a 9-point lead over second place and 21 points left to play, the only doubt about winning this title is when it will happen and how many guard of honor ceremonies the culés players will see. 

On Wednesday, the blaugranas will host a scapegoat for their interests like Celta, who has always provided excitement and spectacle in Barcelona, with the confirmed injury absences of Raphinha and Christensen and the doubt over Marc Bernal.

Regarding the starting eleven, with no other competitions left but the domestic league, Hansi Flick will leave nothing in reserve and will start the game with a star lineup containing the only doubts in the attacking midfield, where Olmo, Fermín, and Rashford will compete for two spots; in midfield where Frenkie de Jong and Gavi will contest who plays behind Pedri  and up front, as usual this season, virtually equal chances for Ferran and Lewandowski, although their recent performances give a slight advantage to the Valencian.

R.C. Celta de Vigo

This match arrives at one of the most delicate moments of the season from a psychological and football standpoint for Real Club Celta de Vigo. Swept out in a two-legged Europa League tie by Freiburg and after two painful home league defeats against Alavés and Oviedo, now it’s time to get back into the rhythm of the league, with 7 finals left to confirm that Celta participates for the second consecutive year in continental competition.

There is good news and bad news regarding this matchday 33 duel.

The good is that the team’s away performances from the municipal Balaídos stadium this season have been very notable with some impressive wins (S. Bernabéu...)... and the bad is that perhaps Spotify Camp Nou against an F.C. Barcelona whose only goal this season is to clinch the league title as soon as possible, may not be the ideal environment to straighten out the course for a team that has been affected not only psychologically but also in the style of play.

With no midweek matches in other competitions, the lineup Claudio Giráldez should field will be recognizable, although -recognizable-predictable-accurate are three words that have rarely been combined together in a single sentence referring to Celta’s starting eleven this season.

In defense, the evolution of Starfelt is still pending, while in midfield it seems that Moriba and Vecino will take control with Rueda - Mingueza - Carreira battling for the two wing positions. Up front, Borja Iglesias should start along with an in-form Jutglà playing behind the Barcelona defense, and the other spot is open with Fer López and Swedberg competing to start.
