Espanyol visits Betis in a delicate situation, marked by their poor form and several important doubts in the squad. The most significant absence remains Javi Puado, who will not return until September after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament, while Pere Milla also misses the game due to suspension. Additionally, Fernando Calero is doubtful after training separately, although Antoniu Roca is expected to be available after overcoming shoulder issues.

Regarding the starting eleven, Manolo González still hasn’t found a fixed structure and keeps several uncertainties open. In defense, Rubén Sánchez gains ground after his good performance in the last match and could come in for Omar El Hilali, or even fit into a system with double full-back or five defenders. If Calero doesn’t make it in time, Riedel is likely to keep his spot in the back line.

There is also debate in midfield and attack. Pickel, Pol Lozano, and Terrats compete for minutes to accompany Urko, with different profiles depending on the game plan: more physical with Pickel, more control with Lozano, or a more hybrid option with Terrats. Up front, Roberto challenges Kike García, while Ngonge and Terrats also contest another attacking spot. In any case, Espanyol’s main objective is to regain order and defensive solidity to better compete against a Betis that punishes any mistake heavily.
