A match with very few chances, but one that serves Corberán’s team to add another three points.

FIRST HALF

The match started very evenly, with both teams barely creating chances near the opposing goals. However, around the fifteenth minute, the game came to a complete halt due to a severe head clash between a Sevilla player and Valencia’s captain, José Luis Gayà. The referee reacted immediately and called for medical assistance. After several minutes of uncertainty, the player reassured everyone by giving a thumbs up indicating he was okay.

Nevertheless, shortly after returning to the pitch, Gayà fell again after suffering another blow to the head. Although the fullback appeared somewhat disoriented, he chose to continue. However, minutes later he collapsed again and ultimately had to be substituted, with Jesús Vázquez coming on in his place.

After the long interruption, the match resumed and it wasn’t until the 38th minute that the first shot on target arrived. That first attempt also opened the scoring. Following a loss by Alexis Sánchez, Valencia took advantage of the opportunity. Unai Núñez played one-touch for Ramazani, who received the ball completely alone. His initial shot was stopped by the Greek goalkeeper Vlachodimos, but the rebound fell back to the team led by Carlos Corberán, and Hugo Duro did not miss, heading the ball into an empty net for 0-1.

Far from stopping there, Valencia struck again on the next dangerous action. After a great individual play by Rioja down the right wing, the ball reached the area and Ramazani, well positioned, only had to tap it in to make it 0-2 and extend the visitors’ lead.

SECOND HALF

Right after the second half began, Sevilla’s coach didn’t hesitate and made a triple change even before the players had stepped onto the field. Valencia, meanwhile, kept the same starting eleven with which they ended the first half.

In the 57th minute, Isaac Romero tried a long-range shot that forced the Valencian goalkeeper to intervene, although the ball eventually went over the crossbar.

As minutes passed, the match entered a phase without clear chances. Sevilla dominated possession and tried to create danger through crosses from the wings and quick transitions, but they failed to trouble the goal protected by Dimitrievski. Meanwhile, Valencia showed solidity in defense, clearing any offensive attempt by the home team.

The first shot on target for Sevilla came in the 78th minute. Isaac Romero made a great individual move inside the area, getting rid of his marker with a roulette before finishing the play. However, his shot was too weak, and the Valencian goalkeeper was able to stop it effortlessly.

In the 90th minute, the referee added five extra minutes. Even so, no more dangerous chances occurred, and Carlos Corberán’s team ended up taking three highly valuable points.
