The medical schedule marks the turning point. After coordinating with the medical staff, this Thursday has been a rest day, a usual measure to reduce inflammation and make imaging tests more reliable. Courtois has rested at home after returning at dawn with the squad and, this Friday morning, he will undergo examinations. At the Etihad, still without a limp, he gave a short response: "We’ll see."

Since then, the initial optimism has faded. The feeling that the Etihad issue was just an overload is losing strength and, without speaking of maximum alarm, the tone of the situation is starting to turn towards concern.
