The date for the Rayo Vallecano - Oviedo match of matchday 23 is confirmed

The match was scheduled for Saturday, February 7, but it was suspended due to the poor condition of the pitch at the Vallecas stadium. According to the organization, the date that has finally been confirmed is the one that LaLiga had already scheduled.

The association detailed that the National Committee of Second Instance of the Royal Spanish Football Federation resolved the appeals presented by Rayo Vallecano, Real Oviedo and the National Professional Football League against the February 19, 2026 decision of the Sole Judge of Professional Competitions related to the suspension of the match. The Committee, LaLiga adds, unanimously decided to declare that decision void, understanding that the RFEF is not competent to review or overturn LaLiga’s decisions regarding suspension, postponements, and date setting in the competitions it organizes.

"The decision bases its ruling on the final judgment of December 18, 2024, from the Sixth Chamber of the National Court. The National Committee of Second Instance emphasizes that the obligation to respect and comply with final judicial decisions is not subject to the Federation or its bodies’ agreement with their content, recalling that in a Rule of Law, subjective disagreement does not exempt compliance with a judgment," LaLiga adds.
