The Rayo Vallecano - Real Oviedo match for this Saturday is postponed!

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM LA LIGA:

With the aim of safeguarding the physical integrity of the players, LALIGA has resolved to suspend the match corresponding to matchday 23 of LALIGA EA SPORTS that was supposed to take place between Rayo Vallecano and Real Oviedo at the Vallecas Stadium this Saturday, February 7 at 14:00.

The decision is made upon verifying that, at the current time, the playing field does not meet the necessary safety conditions to hold the match securely.

It is worth noting that Rayo Vallecano has made significant efforts this same week, completely replacing the field's turf, with the aim of being able to play the match as usual. However, adverse weather conditions during the execution of these works, as well as the weather forecast for the coming hours, including continued rainfall, have prevented the turf from reaching the necessary optimal condition.

Throughout this process, LALIGA has been constantly monitoring the maintenance and adaptation works on the playing field, working in coordination with the club and continuously monitoring the field's conditions.

Both the club and LALIGA have made every effort to try to exhaust all options for playing the match until the last moment. However, the evolution of the playing field conditions and the weather forecast for today, with continued rainfall, do not allow to guarantee the players' integrity, which is why the match has been considered necessary to be postponed.

In accordance with current regulations, a deadline will be set for the submission of new date proposals for the match to take place.
