Sevilla FC has approved the temporary departure of Alfon González headed to Castellón.

The agreement between clubs includes Alfon's loan until the end of the season and a non-mandatory purchase option of 7 million euros. The player will travel in the next few hours to undergo a medical examination and sign. In the groguet environment, Marcelino sees him as a reliable alternative to cover the absences of Solomon and Ilias Akhomach, so his competitive adaptation to Villarreal CF should be quick.

The winger, former Celta player, arrived at Sevilla for free a year ago as the last signing pushed by Víctor Orta. He signed a pre-contract and respected it until joining in July, despite having other offers. However, injuries have marked his time in Nervión: 13 games between LaLiga and Copa and two goals.

Alfon's departure also frees up space in Sevilla FC's squad to finalize the arrival of Neal Maupay, who would land on loan from Olympique de Marseille with a non-obligatory purchase option of 5 million. In order to register the forward, the club needs to prove the long-term absence of Marcao and obtain approval from LaLiga.

Maupay's Signing

According to the club's timelines, the French attacker is expected to arrive in Seville in the coming days to undergo medical tests and join the coaching staff. In principle, it would be the first—and probably only—winter market signing. Meanwhile, the sports management remains focused on other matters, considering the minimum goal achieved if this operation is completed.

Economically, Sevilla needs to finalize a sale close to 10 million before June 30. Napoli maintains interest in Juanlu, but the proposed formula so far does not convince: a loan with a purchase option that does not meet immediate needs. The scenario would only change if the Italian club guaranteed a final payment high enough to compensate Sevilla for letting go of the homegrown player at this point in the season.
