The English full-back set off the alarms by requesting to be substituted in the 54th minute of the match at San Mamés. He felt a tweak in his left quadriceps and was attended to on the field. Raúl Asencio came on for him and took over the full-back position. His evolution is pending and he is doubtful for the weekend.

The match, corresponding to matchday 19 of the League championship, left a worrying sight on the Real Madrid bench: minute 54, a gesture of pain and an immediate request for substitution by Trent Alexander-Arnold. The defender felt a tweak in the upper part of the quadriceps of his left thigh and required assistance before leaving the field. For the Whites, the setback comes in the midst of a double commitment week.

In San Mamés, against Athletic Club, the replacement was taken by Raúl Asencio, who took the full-back position to complete the second half against the lions. The priority for the coaching staff now is to assess the real extent of the Englishman's muscle discomfort and adjust loads.
