FIFA SIDES WITH LAPORTE AND AUTHORIZES HIS SIGNING FOR ATHLETIC CLUB

Statement from Athletic Club:

Athletic Club wishes to inform that FIFA has authorized the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to obtain from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation the International Transfer Certificate (CTI).

Once said CTI is issued, the registration of player Aymeric Laporte at Athletic Club can be carried out.

Athletic Club's Need:

The arrival of Aymeric Laporte at San Mamés was more than necessary for Athletic Club's aspirations this season. Indeed, his signing already represented a leap in quality for Athletic Club's squad, but the injuries to Unai Egiluz, with a torn ACL, and the 10-month suspension of Yeray Álvarez for doping left Txingurri with Dani Vivian and Aitor Paredes as the only specific central defenders to face four competitions.
