DFPablo Maffeo's destination remains a mystery as the transfer market deadline approaches. The right-back of Real Mallorca is determined to leave the club this summer, although he does not rule out the possibility of staying on the island if a move is not finalized before September 1 at 23:59 when the summer market ends.
After the preseason training camp in Austria, Maffeo had a brief meeting with Pablo Ortells, Mallorca's Football CEO, where he expressed his desire to leave and requested that any offers for him be considered. In the past few days, there have been significant movements: the sports management proposed an option for the player to leave the club, but Maffeo turned it down.
Greek club Panathinaikos made an offer that includes a loan with a mandatory purchase clause, with figures that satisfy the sports management led by Ortells. However, the Catalan full-back declined the offer due to the remuneration offered. The Greek club proposed a wage that would halve Maffeo's current salary at Mallorca, something the player is not willing to accept.
